2005-2006

  • Holly Cassard was selected as one of the Top Ten Seniors of 2006.

  • Holly Cassard and Marcus Stanley received The Leo Zinser Drama Award at the 2006 College of Arts and Sciences Honors Convocation.

  • Adrienne Chavez received The Rev. Ernest Ferlita, S.J. Drama Award at the College of Arts and Sciences Honors Convocation.
  • Kerri Driscoll was a member of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) Bateman Team who placed 2nd at the annual competition.

2004-2005

  • Audrey A. Bales, Kerry J. Cahill, and Christina J. Ung, were recipients of the The Leo Zinser Drama Award at the 2005 College of Arts and Sciences Honors Convocation.
  • Desiree L. Stevenson, received The Rev. Ernest Ferlita, S. J. Drama Award, at the 2005 College of Arts and Sciences Honors Convocation.
  • Charles Ezeb and Christina Ung each received a Top 10 Senior Award presented by the Center for Student Leadership Development.

2001-2002

  • Roy Berthelot received the Leo Zinser 2002 Drama Award.
  • Leah Loftin and Brian Morvant from Much Ado About Nothing were nominated as state candidates to the Region VI Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship competition of the Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival and competed in February at the regional in Fort Worth, Texas.
  • Amanda Moore won the Region VI Mehron Makeup Design Award for her work on Much Ado About Nothing in February at Fort Worth, Texas. She went on to present at the nationals competition of the Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival in Washington D.C.
  • Leah Loftin, junior, appeared in the award winning film Monster’s Ball with Halle Berry and Billy Bob Thorton.
  • Rebecca Johnson, sophomore, and Guy Schaafs, senior, were recognized as two of the 65 Loyola University Who’s Who Among American Universities and Colleges.
  • Six Loyola University drama majors were selected through competitive auditions to attend the prestigious British American Drama Academy in Oxford, England in July 2002.

2000-2001

  • Leo Zinser Drama Award for 2000-2001 to Erin Garland.

1999-2000

  • Leo Zinser Drama Award for 1999-2000 to Gina Lutterman.
  • Big Easy Entertainment 1999 Award Nomination for Best University Theatre Production, Tintypes directed by Ricky Graham with musical direction by Dane Evans.

Students of the department have exhibited excellence and been accepted into internships, summer programs, and graduate school at theatre institutions both regionally and nationally.

  • Local Theatre
    • Drama majors have auditioned and earned parts in local theatres, including Southern Rep, the Tennessee Williams Festival, True Brew, Shakespeare at Tulane, Summer Lyric and Le Chat Noir.
    • Southern Rep, Summer Lyric, Le Chat Noir, Summer Stages, and Shakespeare at Tulane have had students working in staff positions.
