Janna Saslaw

Associate Professor of Music Theory

B.A., M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D., Columbia University

Dr. Janna Saslaw’s work focuses on cognitive issues throughout the history of music theory. Previously, Saslaw has taught at Columbia University and the University of North Texas. Her articles have appeared in Theoria, Studies in Music from Western Ontario, the Journal of Music Theory, The New Groves Dictionary of Music and Musicians (seventh edition), and in a volume of essays from Cambridge University Press, "Music Theory in the Age of Romanticism." She speaks regularly at the National Society for Music Theory conferences. She has been with the College of Music faculty since 1996.
