Jerry Davidson

Visiting Professor of Music Theory

B.M., University of Arkansas at Fayetteville; M.S.M., Union Theological Seminary; Ph.D., Northwestern University

Jerry Davidson has served the chair of the Music Department of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and associate dean of the School of Music of Louisiana State University. He has also served as a member of the music faculties at Harper College, Palatine, Illinois, and the University of Central Arkansas. A member of ASCAP, Davidson is a frequent contributor to music journals and an active composer. He holds the A.A.G.O. and Ch.M. degrees from the American Guild of Organists and served as state convenor for Arkansas. In 1996, he was one of seven semifinalists for the National Competition in Organ Improvisation. He is organist and choirmaster for Grace Memorial Episcopal Church in Hammond, Louisiana. Prior to his position at Grace Church, he was organist and choirmaster at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Hot Springs, Arkansas. In Hot Springs, he served as director of the Community Band, the Hot Springs/Arkadelphia Bach Choir and Orchestra. While in Hot Springs Village, he directed the Cedar Mountain Singers and was music director for the Village Players. He has been with the College of Music since 1999.
