Helen Erb

Instructor of Oboe

B.A., Swarthmore College; Oboe and English Horn, Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra

Helen Erb studied oboe and English horn with John Mack, Louis Rosenblatt, and Stevens Hewitt. Erb has taught at Loyola, Tulane, and Xavier universities and has been a faculty member with the National Youth Orchestra of Canada. She is a former member of the Santa Fe Opera Orchestra and the Houston Symphony. She has performed Sibelius' Swan of Tuonela with the New Orleans Symphony and Bach's A Minor Concerto for Oboe d'amore with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, and with the Marrowstone Music Festival. She has been with the College of Music faculty since 1997.
