Alice V. Clark

Associate Professor of Music History and Coordinator of Music History and Literature

B.M., Ohio State University; M.M., University of Texas at Austin; M.F.A. and Ph.D., Princeton University

Before coming to Loyola, Alice Clark taught at the University of Notre Dame, the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, Pennsylvania State University, and Ohio State University. She has published many articles and papers on Medieval and Renaissance music, with a focus on the motet in fourteenth-century France. She is currently president of the International Machaut Society and a member of the American Musicological Society Council; she has also served as a moderator for the American Musicological Society e-mail discussion list. Clark's performance experience includes work with Pomerium and with early music ensembles at the Oberlin Baroque Performance Institute, Ohio State University, Princeton University, and the University of Texas at Austin. She has been with the College of Music since 2000.
